When I woke this Sunday feeling tired (from deep cleaning my room - Goodwill is about to be flush with goodies) and the first hint of seasonal allergies, I knew nothing but easy layers and giant sunglasses would do for my day four ensemble. So in the spirit of basically wearing pajamas outside, I started with my favorite silk dress over some flowy white pants. Then realizing fall is really, actually, truly here (yay!!!!), I added an oversized heathered sweater. But something was missing. Could it be? Did I need something to warm my neck and add some cool 90's mom vibe to the outfit? Yes, surely I needed yet another turtleneck! Then, as I said, seasonal allergies are wreaking havoc on my sinuses and I wanted to cover up my very puffy eyes, so voila! Giant sunglasses fit for an Olsen. And there you have it, a perfect Sunday street style bait oufit that feels like pajamas but is brimming with minimal goodness.
So far in this fantasy NYFW, I have noticed that my color palette has consisted of white, cream, black, and a dark hunter green. And you know what? I'm not mad at it. Though I don't often wear too much color, hunter green is a personal favorite for fall (I have green eyes and it brings out my eyes. Wait, right?). Plus, today was the first day with a brisk breeze and a touch of chill in the air, and a dark green velvet lace-up mini skort seemed season-appropriate. This long linen jacket was a minimalist's dream find. Off-white, long but with short sleeves, and with an open front, how could I not wear it today with a white turtleneck below? This outfit seems like a street style dream what with this jacket looking so dramatic in motion! Pair it with gold accessories and a killer pair of black and white striped heels and I'd be right at home at the Lincoln Center.
