After seeing these shades walk down the runway at the Chanel S/S 2007 show, I knew I needed to DIY my own pair. The only problem was finding the perfect pair of round frames. I originally intended for them to be black, but a mere two weeks after the show, these beautiful white frames waltzed into my life. I took them to an optician, told them what I wanted and the below photos were the result! It's such an easy way to personalize your glasses with different tinting. Depending on what you want done, this little trick should only cost you $10-$30! This pair didn't turn out exactly as I wanted (I wanted the dark tint to go further down), but I was so smitten that I didn't care! I rarely wear these beauties (they're vintage frames and pretty fragile) but when I do, I always like for them to take center stage.
In other news, I'm apparently in the throes of a love affair with ole Aryn K, as this is the second time this week I'm wearing one of their designs - and for good reason! Though I'm newly introduced to their line, in just purchasing two of their pieces I can easily extrapolate what their design profile is: feminine yet simple, well-made elevated basics. The piece I'm wearing above is actually a jacket but I love the shape it is when zipped, so I decided to wear it as my top with a pair of printed pants and minimalist sandals. Chic with a twist (in my dream world, at least!).
